- How to update your icons if they stop working
I. HOW TO DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL CITRIX RECEIVER FOR WINDOWS
Follow the prompts, [Accept] Licensing Agreement, [Allow] if necessary, and [Run], [Open] or [Install]
Once you have installed the Citrix Receiver for Windows:
Locate the toggle arrow in the lower right hand corner of the screen.
Left click the arrow to view available programs:
Hover over the symbol for the Citrix Receiver
ONE VERY IMPORTANT NOTE:
If you are working with multiple lanes – each Lane ID is SPECIFIC to a workstation. Therefore, if you are at Workstation 1, you should use the Workstation 1 ID to log in. The only “roaming ID” is the Manager ID – which should only be used on workstations that do not have an assigned ID. [From a remote laptop, or home computer for instance]
Once these workstations are logged in, you can always access your applications in the above referenced manner. There should be no need to Log In daily or repeatedly.
II. HOW TO CONFIGURE RECEIVER
This is how you will log in initially, and after being disconnected or logged off
The following Citrix Login In screen should appear:
The entry should look something like this:
Select [Log On]
You are now in your Cloud Hosted Environment!
III. HOW TO ADD APPLICATION ICONS (SHORTCUTS)
First, click on the + sign at the left of the screen:
Then, click All applications at the upper left, and select the ones you want to see shortcuts for. You can choose multiple applications:
You will now see your shortcuts in your main Receiver window as below, plus they will also appear in your Windows start menu.
IV. HOW TO UPDATE YOUR SHORTCUTS IF ANYTHING DOESN'T WORK
NOTE: your shortcut icons will NOT update themselves when changes occur on the server (for example, if your server changes, or your published applications change). But if this happens you can easily update your icons as follows.
First, you can click the down arrow at the top of the Receiver window next to your username, and select Refresh Apps. This will usually update any unresponsive or missing icons:
If the above doesn't work, you can re-add your icons by repeating the ADD APPLICATION steps in section III above. You can also remove an unresponsive icon by right-clicking it and selecting "Remove".
