You may receive a message like the below saying that a new QuickBooks release is available, and asking “would you like QuickBooks to install this update now?”

A. Please contact NovelAspect Support and request the update. QuickBooks updates need to be performed on the server by our technicians after hours.
Q. Is there any cost associated with QuickBooks release updates?
Q. Why would I not want to update?
A. There is a potential for new releases to introduce unforeseen problems. We recommend not adopting new releases immediately unless there is a particular feature or fix that you really need. NovelAspect tests most new QuickBooks releases for 2-4 weeks before approving them for general use.

Q. What happens if I click “Install Now”?
A. The update will not be able to complete, and your QuickBooks application may hang. Normally you can recover from this by closing the application, logging off, and logging back on.
Q. If I can’t do the update myself, can I turn off these update prompts?
A. Unfortunately, no. This is a feature that is built into QuickBooks.
